Goal: Uses magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to detect changes in brain chemistry associated with mood disorders and substance abuse, with the objective of devising novel methods for early intervention and treatment.
The Magnetic Imaging Resonance Laboratory leads clinical trials to learn about the causes of psychological disorders, and to devise new ways to treat them. Ongoing clinical trials include studies of depression, biomarkers of depression, methamphetamine depression, and bipolar depression.
