The Brain Institute exists to develop and sustain collaborations between neuroscientists in Utah. This integrative work is accomplished by an executive team, and guided by the vision of the Brain Institute USTAR investigators; an executive advisory committee; and University of Utah senior leadership.
Brain Institute Executive Team
The Brain Institute executive team is comprised of faculty leadership and a full-time core staff (organizational chart). The executive team core staff promotes interdisciplinary collaborations among Brain Institute faculty members by: assembling interdisciplinary research teams in specific focus areas; assisting with grant preparation and administration; providing communication services such as collaborative online workspaces and team-specific public websites; and coordinating internal meetings and large scientific symposia.
Brain Institute USTAR Investigators
Three USTAR investigators joined the Brain Institute in 2008 to lead two USTAR research clusters: Diagnostic Imaging and Circuits of the Brain. USTAR is the state-funded Utah Science Technology and Research initiative to strengthen Utah's knowledge economy, and create high-paying jobs and new businesses; learn more about USTAR at innovationutah.com. The Brain Institute USTAR investigators work closely with the Brain Institute executive team to build far-reaching interdisciplinary research networks throughout Utah.
