Flexible spinal column w/ color coded regions model

Plastic. This fully flexible, life-sized vertebral column displays the occipital plate; cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebrae; sacrum; coccyx; and complete pelvis.

Vertebral arteries, spinal nerves, and a prolapsed L3 - L4 intervertebral disc are also shown. The regions of the vertebral column are color coded for easy identification.

This tongue model shows the lower jaw up to the second molar, the tongue with mouth floor musculature in median section and the right sublingual and submandibular gland.

Human Ear: model Human ear model

3 life size. Upper and frontal portions of the bony ear chamber are removed to reveal the ear canal, the removable ear ossicles (with eardrum), and the semicircular canals (with dissectible cochlea). Size, 34 16 19 cm. On base.

Human Eye in Orbit: model Human eye in orbit model

3 1/2 life size. This 8-part model is positioned realistically in the bony orbit, complete with extraocular muscles and optic nerve. A cutaway portion of sclera shows detail of the choroid.

Human reflex pathway model Altay. Plaque mount shows sensory, neural, and motor components of a typical reflex arc. Pertinent structures are numbered and referenced on the accompanying key. Size, 53 38 cm.
Synapse model This unique model shows axon terminal with synapse and postsynaptic membrane structure with receptive sites. Neurotubules, neurotransmitter vesicles, and the mechanism of delivery of neurotransmitter across the synapse are clearly shown. The one-piece model can be removed from its base for closer examination. Size, 21 22 22 cm.
Neuron model

Somso dissectible human neuron is a schematic representation of nerve cell and axon with medullary sheath and Schwann's sheath. Dissectible into 3 parts.

On stand with base. Size, 53 17 22 cm.

Motor neuron model More than 2,500 life size. This unique diorama model incorporates a detailed reproduction of a motor nerve cell with a color backdrop showing a network of associated neurons. Convergence of multiple axons to form a motor nerve fiber and its termination at the neuromuscular junction of a skeletal muscle, complete with synaptic vesicles carrying neurotransmitters, are also presented clearly and dramatically. Well-represented cellular organelles, branching dendrites, communicating synapses, and a myelin-wrapped axon with node of Ranvier are among the highlights of this model. A section of the axon lifts off to show the layers of the myelin sheath, the neurolemma, and the Schwann cell that formed them. Mounted on a hardwood base. Size, 43 20 28 cm. Includes illustrated key with 54 identified features.

Rat Brain Model

The C29 model shows a rat brain in approx. 6-fold enlargement. Sectioned medially, it can be disassembled into two halves. For purposes of comparison, a natural cast of a rat brain and a didactic, small-scale illustration of a human brain in median section are shown on the base, with the same color coding used for the various regions.
